Working remotely

If you do not have a Stata license on your private computer, you can still access the software through the university. There are two ways: RemoteDesktop and RemoteApp. Both require VPN connection and offer access to Stata 16.

RemoteDesktop

• As if you were working on an university computer: access to files stored there
• Also provides Stata 14

RemoteApp

• Opens the Stata window only, no access to any other part of the system
• Can link local files from your computer to use them
Important: Save your do-file every few minutes, as Stata tends to crash when working remotely. The VPN client is also useful to access literature and databases which you can only use from the university network.
